The study examined 32 neurological monitoring encounters. Adiposity and systemic inflammatory markers showed strong relationships within their own domains, but weak cross-domain associations.

A high prevalence of excess weight

28 of 32 observations (87.5%) were overweight or obese. Principal inflammatory measurements were available for 29 encounters.

Twenty tests, no FDR-supported association

The smallest adjusted p-value was 0.626. Waist circumference and NLR showed an inverse coefficient (ρ = −0.350; p = 0.063).

Complementary biological dimensions

NLR did not clearly distinguish CIE from other neurological disease (p = 0.247). The findings are hypothesis-generating.
